The Wood Flooring Association (Victoria), originally the Victorian Floor Layers and Finishers Association, was formed in 1992 with a single goal in mind; “To ensure that owners of wood floors could be offered the best possible timber flooring professional results by a group of timber floor industry professionals dedicated to quality results”. Since then, our association has grown, necessitating on-going training and independent on-site work audits of all members in an attempt to maintain our high quality standards.

The WFA Committee is in constant communication with members, timber flooring suppliers and timber floor manufacturers to ensure that all members are kept as up to date as possible with the latest technological advances and methodology.

Association Members guarantee their workmanship based upon the Minimum Standards required. Working with Chisholm Institute of TAFE, Wood Flooring Association Members are trained in many aspects of their work.

Free Trial for Industrial Relations Service

In an exciting new development for WFA, a new, free IR service is about to be trialled. The new service will have two aspects; the first a monthly IR bulletin covering topics of importance or general interest; the second a 3-month trial phone service.

From June 1st until end August 2011, members will be able call the Timber Merchants’ Association (TMA) IR line to ask about any industrial relations issues. Each member will be able to use the service once during the trial period. This service will be free to all WFA members. WFA will use the trial period to gauge the demand for such a service and the nature of the issues raised. This information will allow WFA to consider the nature of any future IR service to members.
